Colliers' Monday, Lyrics

I love Saturday, I love Sunday, I love the holiday on Colliers’ Monday
Tuesday morns are very bleak - it’s when I start my working week.

On mornings I missed the bus at 5, on afternoons I simply skived,
And on the night shift I’d got it made: I told them all I overlaid.

If Gaffer should give me a thousand pound to take my shovel underground
Unless its Donnie Race week, I’d take his pay; until he does I’ll stop away.

Gaffer Platt he did me seek “Why's thee only come four days a week?”
“It's economics", said I to he - "you’ve never paid enough on three”.
